Trailside is an adaptable nature day: begin with exhibits to orient everyone, then choose a short stretch of trail. The best version of the visit is often a small one, especially with younger walkers.
Trailside Nature & Science Center is in Mountainside, New Jersey. Indoor nature learning paired with a walk outside. It is particularly suited to nature learning and short hikes.
For All ages, allow 1–3 hours. Check nature-center hours separately from trail access. Bring sturdy shoes and insect protection in warm months.
