Instructions.

Print the Live Play Grow ghost template on regular white paper or cardstock. Cardstock works especially well if your child likes to use a lot of glue.

Let your child squeeze or spread glue inside the ghost. It doesn't need to be perfect — letting kids manage the glue themselves adds another fine motor challenge.

Pull the cotton balls apart into smaller fluffy pieces and press them onto the glue. Kids can cover the entire ghost, make patterns, or leave little spaces between the cotton.

Once the ghost is covered, set it aside to dry. Hang it on the fridge, turn it into Halloween decor, or cut around the outside once it's completely dry.
Safety tip
- Always supervise young children during craft activities. Cotton balls and small craft materials can be a choking hazard and shouldn't be put in the mouth. Choose materials appropriate for your child's age and abilities.
Field Notes
- Parent tip: Have extra time? Put out crayons, washable markers, googly eyes, or Halloween stickers and let kids decorate around their ghost.
- Parent tip: Older kids can cut out the finished ghost once it's dry and turn it into a Halloween decoration. For younger kids, keep it simple: glue + cotton balls is plenty.
- Setup takes about 2 minutes, and younger children may need help with the glue. Through play, this activity supports fine motor control, hand strength, bilateral coordination, and creativity.
